Carbon Steel/Low Alloy Steel Pipes
Material: X42, X52, X60 (API 5L standard steel grade), corresponding to Q345, L360, etc. in China;
Features: Low cost, high strength, suitable for long-distance pipelines (high pressure, large diameter scenarios);
Limitations: Requires anti-corrosion treatment (such as 3PE anti-corrosion layer) to avoid soil/medium corrosion.
Polyethylene (PE) Pipes
Material: PE80, PE100 (graded according to long-term hydrostatic strength);
Features: Corrosion resistant, easy to construct (hot-melt welding), good flexibility;
Applications: Urban distribution, courtyard pipelines (medium and low pressure, small diameter scenarios).
Stainless Steel Pipes
Material: 304, 316L;
Features: Extremely strong corrosion resistance;
Applications: High sulfur content natural gas, offshore platforms, and other special corrosive conditions.
Core Technical Features
Sealing and Connection:
Long-distance pipelines: Welded connections (submerged arc welding, gas shielded welding) ensure high-pressure sealing;
Medium and low-pressure pipelines: Hot-melt connections (PE pipes), threaded connections (small-diameter carbon steel/stainless steel pipes).
Corrosion Protection Measures:
External corrosion protection: 3PE anti-corrosion layer (long-distance pipelines), epoxy powder coating;
Internal corrosion protection: Inner wall coating (reduces natural gas impurity deposition), corrosion inhibitor injection (high sulfur content pipelines).
Safety Facilities: Equipped with pressure sensors, emergency shut-off valves, and cathodic protection systems (to prevent soil electrochemical corrosion); Long-distance pipelines are equipped with distribution stations and pressure reducing stations to achieve pressure regulation and flow distribution.
Industry Standards
International: API 5L (steel pipes), ISO 4437 (PE pipes);
Domestic: GB/T 9711 (steel pipes, equivalent to API 5L), GB 15558 (PE pipes)
