Hot rolling (extrusion) involves heating a solid tube billet, then piercing and rolling it on a rolling mill, or forming it through an extruder. It is commonly used to produce larger diameter steel pipes. Cold drawing (rolling) uses hot-rolled pipe as raw material and further reduces the pipe diameter and wall thickness through cold working, improving dimensional accuracy and surface finish. It is mainly used to produce small-diameter, thin-walled precision steel pipes.
