Carbon (C): is a strong austenite forming element, can significantly improve the strength of steel, in addition to carbon on corrosion resistance also has a negative impact;

Nickel (Ni): is the main austenite forming element, can slow down the corrosion of steel and the growth of grains during heating;

Molybdenum (Mo): is the carbide forming element, the carbide formed is extremely stable, can prevent the grain growth of austenite when heated, reduce the superheat sensitivity of steel, in addition, molybdenum can make the passivation film more dense and solid, thus effectively improving the stainless steel Cl- corrosion resistance;

Niobium, titanium (Nb, Ti): is a strong carbide forming elements, can improve the steel's resistance to intergranular corrosion. However, titanium carbide has a negative impact on the surface quality of stainless steel, so the stainless steel with high surface requirements is generally improved by adding niobium to improve performance.

Nitrogen (N): is a strong austenite forming element, can significantly improve the strength of steel. But the aging cracking of stainless steel has a greater impact, so the stainless steel in stamping purposes to strictly control the nitrogen content.

Phosphorus, sulfur (P, S): is a harmful element in stainless steel, the corrosion resistance and stamping of stainless steel can have a negative impact.
